1.4 South Africa only
At present, we do not buy from or sell to anyone outside South Africa. We therefor only collect from and deliver to addresses within South Africa.
2. Our selection criteria
2.1 What we buy
We buy children’s clothing ranging from newborn to 10 years of age, that is on-trend and fashionable. All clothing must be freshly laundered, and in a new or good-as-new condition. We only buy clothing that meets our high-quality standards. We require a box filled with a minimum of 20 items matching our selection criteria.
2.2 What we don’t buy:
We don’t buy underwear, socks, bibs, toys, blankets, or bath wear. We also don’t buy personalised, home-made, counterfeit or unlabeled clothing. Clothing that features school emblems, logos, pen markings, or outdated year prints is not considered for purchase either.
No dirty, smelly clothing, covered in pet hair or with noticeable stains, marks, holes, tears, bobbling, fading, missing buttons/poppers, cracked logos, broken zips or fasteners. Shrunken, stretched, misshapen, or clothing showing any clear signs of damage or wear and tear is another no-go.
3. Rejected Items
3.1 What we will reject.
We could reject any and all items that do not align with our selection criteria. As we are not equipped to clean or repair clothing, we will likely reject even slightly dirty or damaged clothing. If too few of your items match our selection criteria, we could also reject the entire purchase.
3.2 What happens with rejected items?
If we reject some of your clothing items, you have the following choices:
3.2.1 Donate rejected items
If you decide to donate all your rejected items, one of two things will happen. Firstly, we support a community programme, whereby micro entrepreneurs buy and sell the donated clothes within local communities, generating a much-needed extra income. Alternatively, donated clothing that is not sold through the programme will be donated to local charities.
3.2.2 Return rejected Items
You could request for the rejected items to be returned to you. At a fee of R80 per 5 kg, as well as any additional shipping costs, all rejected items will then be delivered back to your Pargo drop-off point. You can expect to receive the items back within 3 weeks.
3.2.3 Return whole box
You could request for all your items or the whole box to be returned to you. At a fee of R160 per 5 kg, as well as any additional shipping costs, all items will then be delivered back to your Pargo drop-off point. You can expect to receive the items back within 3 weeks.
3.2.4 Default donation
If we do not receive a written request from you on how to treat rejected items within 2 weeks of us notifying you, the items will be donated.
3.2.5 Pargo holding period
Pargo holds the parcel for 8 days only. If you do not collect your parcel within 8 days, it will be returned to us and the above process will be repeated at similar costs.
4. How we pay
We are not a consignment shop, which means you will get paid upfront. After we’ve assessed the contents of your box, we will make you an offer. Offers will differ depending style, quality, quantity and demand. The higher the quality and demand, the higher the offer.
4.1 Quality assessment
After we receive your box, the clothing will go through a stringent quality assessment. Once we are happy with the quality of the clothes, we will send you an offer via email. The offer will be for the entire box. We will also notify you of any rejected items based on our selection criteria. The process – from receiving your box to making you an offer – takes about 2 weeks
Please note: due to Covid-19, we keep all deliveries in quarantine for 7-days after they arrive. This means the assesment and payment steps mentioned in our terms above might be delayed. This is to protect ourselves and our customers.
4.2 Price
No two boxes or items will ever be priced the same as prices differ based on quality, quantity, style, brand, trends, demand and newness of the items. When pricing your box, we also consider the handling process, which includes selling the clothes online, sorting, pricing, styling, photography, storing, listing, and advertising. Roughly estimated, you could receive between R10 and R100 for a dress, shirt, pair of pants, or jacket, subject to the above considerations.
4.3 Payment method
If you accept our offer, we’ll pay you via EFT within 2 weeks of acceptance. As we’re not a consignment shop, you will get paid for the whole box upfront. Please note: we will not be held liable for any incorrect payment which might arise due to incorrect/incomplete information supplied by you.
4.4 Rejecting an offer
If you’re not satisfied, there’s no obligation to go ahead, and you may reject the offer. All items will then be delivered back to your Pargo drop-off point at a fee of R160 per 5 kg (as well as any additional shipping costs). You can expect to receive the items back within 3 weeks from the day of payment. Failure to receive the shipping fee from you within 2 weeks of your rejection will result in the items being donated.
